SOURCE: 2000 monte carlo dim lights stopped working

First check the bulbs, If the bulbs are o.k. It might be the dimmer switch. I think on a 2000 monte the dimmer switch is built into the multi-function switch.

SOURCE: My headlights on my 2000 monte carlo does not work

Day time running lights run low voltage to the high beam bulbs so it sounds to me like you need two new bulbs or you need to check the fuses and see if any need replaceing.

SOURCE: 1999 malibu passenger side low beam headlight

as for the headlight, did you check the fuse. on some vehicles there is a fuse for the left and right headlight! the fuse should be in the underhood fuse and relay box.

Just replace the flasher. you can find it under the dash on the drivers side... Just turn the key on and turn the signal light to one side or the other and follow the clicking noise.

Sounds strange but make sure your low beam bulbs are good [ they have an average life span- they may have both burnt out at the same time ]. This happened to me once in the 1980's with a VW rabbit.

Replacing headlights and adjustment

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

No low/high beams and trans slips once in a while

as far as the tranny i would replaced fluid and filter and add a bottle of lucas transmission fix see if that helps as for the lights check the bulbs just to make sure one of the philiments isnt burn out if the bulbs are good i would have to say it is in your switch remeber if you touch the headlight bulbs wipe them off good before you turn them on or the will blow out
