Just be sure that you do this when your engine is completely cooled. Locate yourthermostat if you haven't already done so. Place a bucket under where you're going to be working. Remove the clamp. Pull off the hose. Remove the bolts that hold thethermostat housing in place and lift out the old thermostat.

Trace the upper radiator hose to the mounting area on the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp on the manifold end of the hose and remove the hose. Pull the thermostat out of the intake manifold.

i own a 1989 ford laser gl and it over heated and bubbling.There is no water in the oil already checked . Could it be the thermostat or a gasket.

The thermostat is located behind the thermostat housing on which the ECT is installed.It is attached to the lower radiator hose. Remove the lower radiator hose and the housing attached to it you would get the thermostat.To replace the thermostat, you must remove the air cleaner box, remove the thermostat housing cover, replace the thermostat with a new gasket, clean off any old gasket material, reinstall the housing cover and air box, and then fill and bleed the cooling system.

dexcool antifreeze 192 or 195 thermostat not to hard to replace

You can replace the radiator yourself, but why do you need to? The thermostat is on the engine. Follow the large hose that goes to the engine block....not the water pump. The thermostat is under that or sits on the top of the engine....looking for a pic for you!
