Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra
2000 hyundai elantra, 135,000 miles Stalled at light shortly after I ran gas down pretty far and refueled it. Engine turns and sounds normal when turning key. It just doesn't want to start. I thought maybe fuel pump, however after I turned the key several times I smelled gas so I have no idea.
Hello, this may be a bad fuel filter becuase if you ran your fuel real low you may have sucked some corrosion or rust into your system. You may need to purge your system of air through a fuel pressure valve which is near your throttle body. Be careful however when pressing this valve with a screwdriver becuase fuel pressure can puncture your skin. I would replace your fuel filter, and fresh gas, bleed your fuel system, and possibly replace your spark plugs and this should help you. If this does not work you probaly have a bad filter on your fuel pump in your tank there is a like a little sock on the end of that fuel pump which can give inadequate amounts of fuel to your system becuase of it being clogged. Thank You.
