SOURCE: need location for 'rear door open' warning light switch

I have a 1993 Corolla that had the same problem with the "door open" light staying on. The problem turned out to be a loose screw that attaches the latch to the body of the car where the door closes. Even after tightening, periodically the light would come back on and the screw had to be retightened. After removing the screw and applying Lock-Tight (sp?), the problem never recurred. So check the "latch for the hatch" to be sure it's secured.

SOURCE: Door open warning light stays on even with all

When car doors are closed a part of the door pushes a button that alerts the computer system of the car that the door is closed. Check all 4 doors and make sure the plastic or metal that pushes those button are in tact. Dont confuse with the child safety lock switch when you check. good luck.

In the Ford Ranger, the light switch can be found in the door, right by the latch. You may need to use some WD-40 to get to work properly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How does the door open warning switch work on a ford focus

there are switches in the latch pin in the door jamb, the switches are not in the door like most fords. if you look at where the door latch meets the striker you will see a rubber sleeve if you push it you will see it goes in and out. that is you door open switch, when door closes it removes ground going to the GEM or body module. when door opens switch is grounded and thn lights come on

Toyota Camry 1991 door light stays on

You need to readjust the switch on your trunk door, or replace. To check it locate it, tape it down with duct tape and see if the light goes off. If not it's bad. If it does it means it isn't sticking out far enough to be turned off when the trunk is closed. The adjusment should be fairly obvious. If not you can simply unplug it which has the same result as turning it off.
