Replacing an O2 sensor is not difficult to do but sometimes they are rusty and the threads on the exhaust pipe will come out with the sensor. Basically there is one wire and a proper O2 sensor socket should be used. A proffesional shop may do the job in 10 minutes but they will charge according to the industry standard (time wise).

Are replacing four oxygen sender's in my 2002 jeep Cherokee som thing, that I can. Replace myself without too much problems or equipment

Takes a special 22 MM socket. And ratchet. They are to easy to access. The only time I have seen all the O2 sensors go out at one time is because the PCM died.

Where are the oxygen sensors located on my 2001 Jeep cherokee sport?

oxygen sensors are always located downstream of exhaust manifold. theres the primary and secondary oxygen sensors. the primary is located before the catalytic converter and the secondary is located after the catalytic converter.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0, 276+ K, new crank sensor, new cam sensor, new throttle sensor, new plugs , new cap & Rotor, new wires, has electrical cut in / out of engine run, drop of tachometer...

Hello Lubie...

I would STRONGLY recommend you get your codes read...

I TRIED ALL that TOO...

Finally my codes... said the OXYGEN SENSORS were complaining... OBD... DTC
(on-board-diagnostic... DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES)

So... of course I changed the... OXYGEN SENSORS.

The "NEW" OXYGEN SENSORS complained just as well...

I have subsequently learned the "SENSORS" are
just doing their job...

In my case reporting on a collapsed catalytic converter.
(muffler is actually a MORE common blockage).

A little hunting around... like Auto-Zone ... Napa auto...
Pep-boys... O'Reilly Auto Parts... even MIDAS might
yield FREE READINGs... (check around).

Just remember to wear your best SALES RESISTANCE...

and look up you prices on ROCKAUTO...
before you go... Hope this helps.

I own a 2002 Jeep Cherokee. Where is the oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 2 located. This jeep has 4 oxygen sensors. Thanks

the bank 1 and 2 refer to what side of the car ir is on. Bank 1 is passenger side bank 2 is drivers side sensor 1 and 2 refer to before and after the catalytic. sensor 1 is before and 2 is after . i hope this helps and just a references if your cam shaft sensor and crank shaft sensor have not gone bad yet i would have them checked. usually these go bad really quick on jeeps. just had to replace both my cam and crank sensors and with out labor it cost around 100 with labor about 150 to 200. and the o2 sensors run anywhere from about 50 to 150 depends on the quality you want

Error code P 0161 for 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited V8

Its related to the oxygen sensor and/or oxygen sensor heater. There are 4 sensors the Jeep is equipped with.

In most cases one of the recommended solution for all those faults is a sensor replacement, however before doing that and spending a lot of money. Go to auto zone and have them tell you what O2 sensor is bad buy it and replace it. Go back to them to have the code cleared. O2 sensors run 20-50bucks. Good Luck

Oxygen Censor

The thermostat will not harm the sensor, but the entire engine control system is designed to operate at 210 degrees, therefore all sensors will not recieve proper information,,,end result may be improper mixture in the exhaust pipe, triggering o2 sensor fault reading!
