Have whinning noise when turning right or slowing down sounds like a power steering noise in rear end

A whinning noise while turning is an indication of a worn bearing. The extra pressure put against the bearing/race during the turn and the closing of a gap creates this noise.I would chech the axle bearings on the side of the truck on the outside the curve when you hear it. What I'm saying is if you hear it when you turn left....check the right side bearing

We had someone put a new water pump in and now it has got a whining noise! It didn't do it until he put it back together! It doesn't sound like a bad water pump! What could be the problem!

Start car and use a stethoscope.
Start car put car in park and and listen for the noise by placing the scope on any item you believe the noise is coming from. if this does not help you confirm where the noise is coming from do the following:
Do you still hear whinning? put car in park after start up and listen for noise.Do the same in neutral. What do you hear? Drive vehicle in all gears. If you hear whinning in all gears its the oil pump inside the converter. Have this verified by a transmission repair shop.

1995 chevy silverado making a whinning noise

Sounds like it's starving for fluid. The noise you hear is probably a clogged filter. It it's been going on for a long period of time, you may have trans damage. I would recommend changing the fluid and filter and add some Lucas trans additive. I'm not much on additives but this stuff works. Hope this helps. Phil
