Question about Cars & Trucks
My 78 Super Beetle stalls when warm and will not start until cooled down. The problem has worsened over a few years. First the problem only occured on warm summer days. Now it also happens when temp is around 0C. I have replaced CHT-sensor. No improvement. I suspected faulty mass airflow sensor and took it to Bosch. They confirmed MAF-sensor problem. Sensor now replaced, but problem is still there. What next? Morten.

the mass airflow sensor is always on the air intake tube....it has wires plugged into it and when you look inside it ,it has either 3 or 4 thin strips of metal or a honey comb look, thats want you clean....bty cleaning it usually doesn't help.

SOURCE: maf sensor
This engine does not use a Mass Air Flow sensor or meter.
