SOURCE: primera 1990 P10 makes loud noise from belt when starting

i recently experienced the same issue. it can be your tensioner pulley or your water pump see the belts are connected to the pulleys and sometimes get worn out and need to be replaced. especially on a older car see a mecanic

SOURCE: when I start the car

Yes it sounds like your power steering belt needs changed also you need to check the power steering fluid and the tension of the belt whereas the belt might be loose. If this is accomplished via a belt tensioner then the tensioner probably needs replaced also.

My first thought is v-belt or serpentine belt loose or bad, may have a problem with the belt tensioner.
If not the belts I would make sure none of the pulley bearing are going out. belt tensioner bearing also. If you remove the belts you can try moving the pulley up/down, side to side see if shaft moves may be bearing. Try spinning the pulley see if it makes the squeaking noise.
If it were a brake pad I would think the car would want to pull some to the right..
wheel bearing cv joint but my experience is wheel bearing, ball joints seem to make more of a rumble than a squeak.

02 Mitshu Lancer OZ screeching start up noise

Hi Hayley the noise your descibing 9 times out of ten would be a pully belt slipping.MAKE SURE you have keys out of Ignition so engine is NOT runnig, preferably in your pocket so there are no accidents. Bonnet up and look down in engine compartment there will be some round pulleys, running on these pulleys will be one or two rubber belts grab each belt in turn and pull up and down there should be very little movement. If there is any slack, you would normally feel the slack because it should be fairly tought. This will no doubt be the problem. Tighten belt. You could confirm this with a second person LOOK in the engine compartment where the belts are fitted KEEP hands away and get a second person to start your car you may see the loose belt flap around when you accelerate you will also hear the noise from this area. If there is movement do not only check the belts but also the pulleys they run on there could be worn bearing on these pulleys creating the noise and excess movement replace or repair as needed. there may also be a loose or missing bolt on the mounts for these pulleys such as the alternator these are also common faults Good luck

Mitsubishi mighty max 3.0 v8 loud noise coming from the fan area

If the fan is attached to the water pump tahe hold of a blade and try back and forward towards the motor. If there is movement there it will be either a fan hub failing or a water pump bearing. Second check remove the fan belt and check for noise.( idle engine for short period of time) If it is gone confirm pump by spinning any adjuster pulleys and check for noise or rough movement

1999 ford explorer limited whining noise in front end

Whining noise is probably in one of the pulleys or belts. Probably the power steering. And the popping is probably CV axles.

Squeaks loud when turning the wheel mostly to the right. I have checked the power steering fluid, it is at the correct level. Its the kind of squeaking as if it were the tires inside an automotive shop,...

This sounds like the power steering belt is slipping, this will cause a loud squeal, check all the belts and make sure they are good and tight, mostlikly its the power steering belt as the noise only happens when the wheel is turned.

WHEEL BEARING USUALLY STARTS MAKING A ROARING TYPE NOISE WHICH USUALLY GETS LOUDER THE FASTER YOU DRIVE, SOMETIMES THEY WILL BE LOOSE , TO CHECK JACK UP THAT WHEEL AND GRAB TOP AND BOTTOM OF TIRE AND SHAKE, IF THERE IS MOVEMENT, TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO ROCK TIRE FOR YPU AND WATCH WHERE AXLE GOES INTO CENTER OF BEARING AND SEE IF AXLE IS MOVING WITH TIRE MOVEMENT AND SPINDLE REMAINS STATIONARY, THEN IT IS BAD BEARING, OR SOMETIMES THERE WILL BE NO MOVEMENT, THEN BLOCK REAR WHEELS AND RUN CAR WITH THAT WHEEL IN AIR AND SEE IF YOU HEAR NOISE, GOOD LUCK.

Why is my laser making a whistling noise right at 3500 rpms

Check the tension of your on the belts, check you or anyone has not bent one of the fan blades (cooling issue) Take the belt off the alternator see if you have any movement by trying to move the belt wheel if so then it's new alternator or new bushes. Hope this helps, Malcolm Campbell.

Loud noise in back end

lift the car up and check the wheel bearings by turning the wheels manually. Listen for any clicking noises. Move the wheel back and forth pulling it toward you. There is not supposed to be any movement or noise on the wheel if the bearings are good. if you do see any movement or hear any noises , replace the wheel bearings
