Question about 1991 Acura Legend
Everyday or every other day when i check my water i find its almost gone but i cant see where its gone to since there isnt any on the ground where im parked nor is it purging it when i shut off the car. there isnt any water in my oil i dont understand
There is a small wheep hole on your water pump in which water exscapes when you drive. The water pump works when the engine is running and is driven by the drive belt. You can do a compression check on your system but remember to check your engines p.s.i's ratings before you do this and you can pick up a compression test kit at an auto parts store. I would check all hoses and clamps for dryrought, I would give your alternator a good once over and check it for leaks. Now an easy fix that I do not recommended to much is the coolant stop leak. You just pour it your radiator and stops most leaks. The problem with is that it destroys the bearings in your water pump over time and you will have to replace it. Their is also a dye that you can put in your coolant which you can see with an infared or black light to see where your leak is coming from. Water can look like a greyish milk color in your milk just for the information. It can not be a head gasket but a bad set of rings which is letting water into the bottom part of your motor. I hope this helps.
