Traction off lamp does not work on my 2005 LeSAbre

Traction off - is the normal state of running for the traction control system for this car. If one of the wheels slips when you start up then the traction 'on' light comes on and Traction Off only shows for a short while when it goes off.

Traction control light is on. Is this an MOT failure? Will it be electrical or module failure?

MOT failure ? You must be located in the UK .The traction control light being on indicates a problem in that system an probably has a trouble code stored in the ABS electronic brake control module . Your best bet is to have a qualified repair shop check it out . Or at least call an ask about MOT requirements .

I loose power when traction control light comes on in my 2002 mustange gt

With some makes and models this is normal. The PCM will reduce engine power when the traction control senses wheel slip as a safety precaution until traction is restored

PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTIONBefore diagnosing ABS/TCS, perform a comprehensive visual inspection of system as follows.Check ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for looseness. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing. Check fuses No. 1D, 5B and 6B in instrument panel fuse block. Check fuses No. 1 and 2 in underhood fuse block. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Check brake fluid level in Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) assembly reservoir. Ensure parking brake is fully released. Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly. Always perform ABS/TCS system functional check before using DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHARTSThe EBCM/EBTCM has self-diagnostic capability, which can detect system failures. Fault codes stored by EBCM/EBTCM can be displayed using Tech 1 scan tester. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.Begin ABS/TCS diagnosis with PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION procedure. If failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, perform necessary repairs, and proceed with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 .If no failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, go to ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 . Engine cuts out after a skid

traction control faulty. You slip and slide, your traction control activates, then here lies your problem.. after your traction control activates, it is creating an electrical short, vacuum leak, etc. look at what your traction control is operating, probably brakes. SO look at the brake booster vacuum lines or connecitons. Hope this at least gives you an idea of where to look. COuld be your traction control module is faulty.

Track control pop on what do that mean and can I trim it off

Your traction control switch may be located on center IP fascia. below the front a/c control switch. Pls check your manual. You can turn it on or off and it will indicate visually on the insrument panel cluster. Normally the default mode is off,(traction light off) meaning the traction system is enabled and operational. If the light comes on while the engine is running and even without touching the switch, it only means that your traction control system have been disabled because the system has detected a fault; you can still run and proceed carefully in good brakes without the traction control system..However' you still need to have your vehicle scanned for codes to know the specific cause.

What is the use of the trac off button?

trac has to do with traction control which is useful in wet conditions such as rain or snow. if you have the owners manual, read it. it may tell you to run normally with it off. i would imagine it wouldnt matter in this case. to be able to run it with trac off, the advantages would be faster response on take off. what the traction control does in when the tires begin to break free it slows the wheel to gain traction once again so you dont loose control. cheers
