Probably a worn gearbox - you should be able to obtain a better one second-hand. Read this, about halfway down

What is the problem when a gearbox sometimes jumps out of gear, either going up hill or on hard acceleration?

1999 Chevy Tracker 4x4 shifter jumps out of gear

? I'm taking a long shot here.... check the transmission mount.... if the trans were to move around (due to a bad mount) it could cause this problem.

It jumps out of first gear or will not stay in first gear when trying to engage

Your trans has a mechanical problem. Could be a couple of reason for jumping out of gear, but it will have to be removed from the vehilcel and tore down no matter what is causing the issue. Sorry for the bad news.

Changed motor and tranny hooked up all the wires gets power to the starter i jump it with a screw driver and the starter turns but it does not engage

sounds like the solenoid is not engaging the gear with the flywheel, take the starter out and check it on the bench to see if the gear is sliding foreward when you engage it

Gear does not engage first thing on mornings, engine revs and then jumps into gear. Car has to warm up for approx 5 min or more for gear to engage normally..

You have a possible failing transmission, if u have a Aamco Transmission repair shop near by have them road test it, they *** it fro free

Transmission i think

Sounds like clutch. The clutch is almost gone and worn unevenly, so if you baby it, it will stay engaged if you put alot of stress on it like up a hill it will slip. This symptom is the warning sign, it will get worse as to where you can't engage any gear. The more it slips the quicker it will fail.
