Just remove your wheel and pull. If it doesn't want to come, loosen the adjusters.

You may have to pull out the axle if your wheel has 10 little bolts around the center then you've got floating back axle and it's going to be real fun...just had to get mine done for $444.00...while off i had them swap out wheel cylinders

1994 chevy 1/2 ton with 10 inch drum brakes that I cant figure out how auto adjustor works and where spring hooks

there is a lever attached to a shoe that activates on the notched wheel of the adjuster bar. The same notched wheel that is used to adjust the brakes through the back or drum. When the shoes moves from the braking action the spring pulls the lever and turns the notched wheel. this is repeated every time the brakes are applied until there is a position where the lever cannot get into the next notch.Any drum brake set up with automatic brake adjustment will look the same so any chev manual will show how to put it together.

Had no auto matic adjusting lever can I put new brake shoes without replacing adjusting lever on 1994 Hyundia excel rear brake driver side

The rear brake drums are drum brakes on the 94 excel. The Excel uses the front brakes the most, so are you sure you need to replace the rear brakes?

Do you have to remove the axels to change the brake shoes on a 94 chev 1 ton?

Yes, the axles have to come out, then the wheel bearings, and finally the drums will come off. Be careful when pulling the drums, pull them straight off the housing, do not allow them to drop on the housing tube, doing so will damage the inner wheel seal. When reassembling the bearings back in the drums just wipe grease on the outside of the bearing, do not pack them with grease. After the drum is back on put a squirt of rear end dope in the hub before putting the axle back in, top up the level in the rear differential, this is where the rear bearings get their lube from.

Does a 1995 bmw 3series have handbrake shoes situated under the hub

The handbrake shoes are in the drum. They use a dual rear brake system. The discs are operated by the pedal and the handbrake operates the shoes in the drum.

What do you mean "under" the hub?

Adjusting the emerg brake is difficult. You have to adjust the brakes in the drum first, then the cable.

REAR BRAKES

i think your aware of how to change the brakes if im right and your problem is the rusted drum doesnt want to come off the only way to get the old drum off is to remove adjuster plug from behind drum dustshield and adjust the shoes so that there not even close to the braking area of the drum then try and wiggle the drum off of the assembly if it is not coming off then you need to use the old nylon hammer on the drum and i mean you must hit the drum from side to side trying by hand to wiggle the drum off its a tight fit and you need to strike the drum on the face not on the fins not wanting to damage with persistance and care and patience you will eventually be able to remove the drum to service brakes take care and good luck with it
