Question about 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
I had just replaced the old one a few weeks back and the new alternator was working fine until now. Everytime i drive for more then 10 mins i can hear my alternator making rough noises and i can smell a stong odour coming from it. I think it may be that the belt is to tight but i have the serpentine belt tensioner, is there anyway to loosen the belt manually? Or maybe i just got bad luck and the "new" alternator was a dud?
The new alternator you bought must have been the dud one. See the rating on the former before replacing. if belt is too tight there will be a sharp schwaking noise.
