Does the starter spin the motor? IF not, you can bypass the starter circuit by directly connecting a jumper from your battery (positive terminal) to the smaller of the three starter terminals. It will be located on the solenoid. First disconnect the coil pack so the car won't start. Next connect the jumper to the starter first, then the battery, flip the jumper switch, You should hear a loud click and the starter should spin the motor. If the starter spins the motor immediately flip the switch back to "open", disconnect the jumper as your problem lies elsewhere. If starter doesn't spin, the starter/solenoid is the problem. If it does spin the motor, you may have a bad wire, fuse, ignition switch, terminal connection etc. If you are uncomfortable with this solution, take it to a technician. Any of them should be able to diagnose the problem.
