Question about 1998 Toyota Sienna
I have purchased a 2 seater ford universal dicki seat,I know my make of car had the option of 3rd row seating when it came of the assembly line, so i am wondering where and how to find the holes to bolt the 3rd row seat in. The petrol tank is located under the spare wheel bay in the back so i cannot drill holes, but i believe there would be holes under putty, both sides of wheel bay have putty all the way along.Any help will be appreciated i dont need instructions for seatbelts as they are attached to the seat all that needs to be done is 4 bolts to attach set to boot thankyou
These were normally mounted in the reverse position BUT the problem is your seat must be fitted by APPROVED installer because your car requires a Blue tag for a modified vehicle to make it legal to use. you install it you make your vehicle registration and insurance not valid and need to be reinspected for road worthiness before it is driven (don't feel bad because child restraint anchor points are the same, that is why in Australia we recommend Ambulance fitting centers)

Most dealers will not perform this service, as they become the "final stage manufacturer", and what that means is THEY would be responsible for any claims (liability) that may arise from an accident. Toyota does NOT recommend adding seats, nor do they recommend changing seat types (buckets vs bench). Note that the vehicle is designed with the specific seating positions in mind. To add a 3rd row seat, you would also have to install the proper seatbelts, and secure the 3rd row seats in a fashion that meets NHTSA specifications.
In short, and I apologize for this, please refrain from doing it.
