Hi guys, I have a ford transit connect LWB 2006, I've bought reverse parking sensors, but I can't seem to find out what colour the wires are for + & - for the reverse parking light?

Does this hook up to the transmission range sensor switch on the tranny? If so use a 12 volt test light ($5 at any auto parts store or online) and put the truck in reverse and probe the wires at the range switch, when you get a light in the test light that should be it, to verify shift out of park and the test light should go off.

Have the RSS module checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . That should always be the first step . An it is
Reverse sensing system Parking Aid The parking aid system consists of the:
  • parking aid sensors
  • parking aid speaker
  • parking aid module
The parking aid system is activated when the parking aid module receives a network messages from the instrument cluster indicating that the vehicle is in reverse. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect angular or moving objects.

My parking sensor on ford focus 2003 just makes one long beep whenever I engage reverse gear, please help as this is very annoying! Thanks Tom

There is a problem with one of the sensors. This is a stand-alone system that has very limited diagnostics. Make sure they are all clean and no stickers or new paint over them. You can always unplug the system if it is to costly.

Ford windstar reverse parking , replaced sensors

You have the infamous Reverse Sensing System (RSS) problem. You can search the internet and find various "fixes", but nothing approaching plug and play. Ford has an elaborate troubleshooting procedure using special test equipment.

The led panel over the rearview mirror says that the Parking Assist is disabled but I cannot enable it following the instructions in the owners manual and it doesn't reset when the ignition is turned off....

I had this situation too, exactly. Everybody told me it was probably a rear bumper sensor gone bad, but at least in my case, no such luck. It was the Park Assist Module, basically the control computer for the whole system. A new one fixed it, but was about $300.
