I have a problem of idling on my car when I start it the engine idle uneven during this the a smell of gas coming out of the exhaust and does not smell very nice. Sometimes it do idle correct but when i started to drive it it does the same thing and when I stop the car switches off by itself and I need to start it again. When i push the start button it takes a long time to start ans then it idles uneven again. I do sevice my car regularly. Please assist me on what I can check for so that I can replace

u find the tensional roller n remove the cap. inside it has the nut commonly 16mm. rotate the nut clockwise and u ll see the belt wold be untension.
hold the nut n remove the belt.tq

top of the engine you will see a 36mm hex fitting, if you are changing the oil you must undo all the way first before drainnig oil as if not oil will not compleatly drain

I rencently had the same problem. Lasted a week or two before it threw a code. Ended up just being a camshaft position sensor. Replaced sensor, now it runs like new. Just be careful with the crankcase breather hose, it's very brittle!

1999 BMW 323i Will not start


Its not worth 3,000 if it won't start, not a 3 series. MAYBE give him 1500- no start problems are very hard to diagnose in these cars.

Overheating and lifter tapping


this engine is in a bad condition and the cylinder head will have to be remove and the lifter replaced. this engine overheated to far and when the cylinder head is off have the the head bolts threads replaced with hylicoils as this will pull out when installing the head.again

As I was driving my 2000 bmw 323i, the battery light came on, the car started smoking and the steering wheel locked up. What is going on?


Sounds like a belt let go, but other items could come in to play here, such as. : Seized idler pulley, seized alternator, etc. Obviously you need to have it checked out. Did you notice if engine overheated, that would be the one that would worry me.

you could have one of many faults. It would be dvisable to read the fault memory of your engine mangement unit. sounds like your throttle housung unit is more than likely your fault, but is impossible to know without using a diagnostic computor
