Sounds like the horn contact terminal inside the steering wheel got disconnected and is hitting a metal part of the steering column which triggers the horn. the terminal that got disconnected is probably has positive polarity and the metal part of the steering column has negative polarity. If they come in contact with each other... *honk* *honk*

My horn on my 2002 ford explorer went off and would not stop honking until we hit the middle of the steering wheel.....is the horn connected to the air bag or seperate. is it a censor in the steering...

If you have an aftermarket burgler alarm in it i would check wiring where it was installed. If not it is probably a malfunction in the contacts in the steering wheel. If checking the steering wheel unhook the battery and let it sit for a few minutes. It is always good to do this so the air bag will not deploy.thanks

93 E250. Neither the horn or the cruise control work. Are these related?

it is probably a related problem since both circuits have to go through the steering collumn. i would double check your fuses, and if they are blown, replace them and turn the steering wheel all the way left to right and back. if the fuse stays good, intermitten problem, but if the fuses blow, the cable reel in the steering wheel may be bad

Horn doesn't work

Sounds to me like the horn pad has lost the insulation internally, when you turn the wheel the contacts touch.

The cruise control in my 2005 Ford Freestar just stopped working yesterday, then this afternoon the radio controls in the steering column stopped working as well

clock spring in the steering column is my guess. They are delicate and have to do with anything in the steering wheel like airbag, horn, or anything that is operated by buttons on the wheel. These wires have to turn constantly with the steering wheel and the "clock spring" goes bad often enough

Horn goes off for no reason

you have a bad horn pad. most likly due to higher temps this time of year, for now you can pull the fuse or relay.

Battery

I've had this exact problem before when being jumped off. The fob DOES NOT make it stop. We removed the fuse that goes to the horn. As soon as your battery gets recharged from the alternator, the fob will work again and the alarm will quit sounding. The only pain about removing the fuse is that the cruise control will not work until you put it back.
