Question about 1998 Honda Civic
We have replaced fuel pump, coil, throttle position sensor, and now just replace spark plugs, we also have checked the timing belt and it looks fine. It wouldnt even crank before but we put the new plugs on and now it will crank but when you try to give it fuel it dies

Are you sure you have correct timing? its definetly a fule problem, if timing is good then turn your key to the on position and try to listin for the fule pump to prime. While the key is in on position go to fuel rail, there is a valve on fule rail called sharader valve. Get a small screw driver and press valve in to check if car has fule pressure. if pressure is present then it is incorrect timing or possible bad cam sensor.

Starter fluid, if used, simulates fuel going into the throttle body or carburetor.
If starter fluid is present in the intake manifold and the car doesn't start when the 4 spark plugs have bright spark, then the fuel is not getting to the engine somehow. This indicates a bad fuel pump or blown fuse for the fuel pump or wiring to it. It could also mean that the fuel injector(s) are plugged or not firing due to the computer not working right.
Do you hear the fuel pump working when the ignition key is turned to ignition? What is the pressure using a gauge?
If the engine's starter cranks the engine then the starter is ok.
If the engine cranks and cranks and won't start, possible timing belt skipped a few teeth or broke.
Check the fuel injectors by listening to them clicking with a stethoscope. If they don't then having pressure present from the fuel pump is not enough to allow the engine to start and run on its own power.

Hi, since you've replaced everything else, about the only thing left is the crankshaft position sensor. This is the sensor the computer uses to time the spark signals. Because this sensor is expensive, I recommend you test it first to verify it's bad before replacing. I have pasted test procedures below as well as replacement procedure in case it fails the tests. You will need an ohmmeter for the test. If you don't have an ohmmeter, you can buy one for as little as $10, or maybe you can borrow one. You will also need a timing light if you replace the sensor. TESTING CRV and 1995 Odyssey Models
CRV models: The blue and white wires. The resistance should be 300-700 ohms. 1995 Odyssey models: The blue/green and blue/yellow wires. The resistance should be 700-1,300 ohms.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION CRV and 1995 Odyssey Models
ADJUSTMENT CRV and 4-Cylinder Odyssey Models
If equipped with an automatic transaxle, place the shifter in Park or Neutral. If equipped with a manual transaxle place the shifter in Neutral. Make sure to apply the parking brake and block the drive wheels.
Odyssey models with 4-cylinder engines: centrally located on the passenger side, under the dash. The connector has two wires; one is brown with a black tracer, and the other wire is red.

2.2L/2.3L Odyssey 2.2L models: 13-17° at 650-750 rpm
