SOURCE: 2000 VW jetta VR6 windshield wipers wont work

first try the fues box see if you have a blown fues, next if you put your wipers on can you hear the motor running for them? if you can the linkage has poped off from the motor, its a bit awkward to get it back on and no gaurentee that it will saty on, you might have to replace linkage, or, it might be the cogs on the actual wiper arms have splayed and are now smooth so they dont grip to move, you can take them off by the nut on the arm , get a can (coke can or simular) cut a rectangle out of it the hight and width if the cog, rap it round the cog, (make sure it does not overlap on the ends) and force the arm back into place and then do the nut up, this is just a short quick fix if that is the case you will have to replace the motor, also you can check the relay to the motor in the fues box, give it a tap a couple of times it might work again if not replace it...hope you find these sugestions helpful

SOURCE: My vw jetta 98 turns but wont start what can it

check for a spark at the plugs if you dont have this then you will need to check that the ingintion coil has a live feed and and earth the pins 1 and 3 on the conector if you have this then you will need to check that you have a pulse from the hall sender this is in pin 2 of the conector check it with a circuit tester and the led should flash if it does then the ignition coil has had it if not then check for a live and an earth at the hall sender ( three pin plug on the distributor ) pins 1 +3 if this is ok you will need a new distributor also worth checkin for a live at both of these with someone cranking the engine if you loose the live feed under cranking the you will need an ignition switch

start procedure is to hold accelerator half down, turn key, wait for injector light to go out, then hold down clutch pedal and start. do not pump the gas. just hold it 1/2 down. when car starts, release gas and then rev it up until the alternator light goes out.

Check the motor mounts. They might be worn or loose which can cause vibration felt when the engine is reved up or running at higher rpms than at idle.

Accelerator Loss

From my experience in owning a VW it souns electrical. Most issues with VWs are electrical related. Most likely a realy of some type. Could also be fuel injection but that is electronic too.
