Drop the transmission pan. Inside the pan you will find the filter. Remove and change it. Change the pan gasket while you are at it.

SOURCE: transmission

your over running clutch band is either broken or worn out . trans needs to come out to be repaired, its not worth just putting in the band. as lonas your in the trans its not much more to have it rebuilt. alot of labor not alot in parts.

SOURCE: transmission wont respond in any drive gear

I bet you didn't get it full of fluid. CHeck the dipstick with eng. running and trans. in Park. Add fluid till it moves, but while adding, have someone shift it back and forth through all the gears with engine running. If not, you have a burnt-up transmission.

2002 ford explorer will drive forward but wont move in reverse...what could be the cause?

bad transmission. if it shifts through gears going forward but will not do anything in reverse it is most likely a bad transmission. reverse is usually the first gear that goes out .

Car wont go move in drive

Low transmission fuid, clogged transmisson filter, and hate to say, very possibly badly worn transmission. At this point I have never seen a change of fluid and filter fix it. Time to rebuild the tranny or have it replaced.

I have a 1992 toyota camry, the transmision seems to work fine untill it worms up. ?After it worms up it wont go into reverse, and it does not seem to come out of overdrive, plus the overdrive light...

You change fluid because it breaks down from the
heat, one of it's main jobs is to remove heat

Fluid is not a fix for anything

Sounds as though your due for a rebuild

There are no new transmissions
Only new one time, when it is built

My 1994 dodge stealth is an automatic i can shift into reverse but wont move unless revved if i try drive it will not go into gear period. we had an ice storm and i havent been able to get it to shift into...

I would start off by checking the fluid level to see if it is low, and to see what condition it is in. When you pull the transmission dip stick, wipe the fluid on you finger, the reason that you will want to do this is to smell the fluid, and feel if there is any debris. If the fluid is any other color that red, it needs to be changed, and if the fluid smells burnt, then it needs to be changed. You stated that when you rev the engine that the car tries to go into reverse. Automatic transmissions are driven by pressure, and if the fluid level is low, or the filter is clogged, it will not build enough pressure to move the car.

Car wont move in drive or reverse

fluid level could be low, transmission could be leaking, clogged pump, failed transmission. if its not making any noise or anything, id check the fluid level and change the fluid and fluid filter.

My car wont move forward or reverse

Chances are is that the torque converter needs to be replaced. However, the transmssion on this vehicle are only serviceable by transmision shops. No regular mechanic will open up the transmission. When the torque converter fails (clutch and plates shutters to small pieces) the debri flows in the transmision thereby potentially destroying the gears and/or clogging the filter and pump. Go straight to a reputable transmission shop and let them correctly diagnose the transmission.
