It appears something has happened to the cable pull how can i open my bonnet without ir

grab the cable end with a pair of pliers and pull if this works put some oil on the hood latch and work it till it locks and unlocks smoothly then go to the the local auto wreckers and get a new cable
they are a royal pain to install because most run inside the fender then thru the rad cradle to the latch

This is a pretty tough job.

Recover ac refri. remove ac condensor, drain radiator, remove both rad. hoses only radiator will lift out of cradle and pivot enough too access alt. dismounting bolts , hoses, and alt will come out with slight tugging past fan shroud & body frame. Sorry No Pictures & would recomend pricing alt hoses at this time.

How to flush the radiator(cooling system) on 1995 chevy lumina

Wait until motor is cool. remove rad cap and loosen rad drain pet **** under rad. If you can't loosen it or cant find it, remove lower rad hose. let all antifreeze drain. Close pet **** or replace rad hose. Fill with water and rad flush(you can get the flush from an auto supply store or wallmart). Run for the recommended time on rad flush bottle. Wait for motor to cool. Then drain out water. Refill with 50% prestone and distiled water.

My cooling fans not running so my car kep rning

Assuming the fuses are fine the most likely culprit is one of 3 fan relays located on the red cradle at the bottom of you rad. I had the same problem and repalced all 3 seeing as they are a pain to access

1994 Honda Civic LX\overheating within 2 mile drive

Remove and raise upper hose at thermostat end and remove lower rad hose.
Fill rad with a hose and watch for flow from bottom rad hose and/ or bottom rad hose connecton.......water should fall though rad easily.
Honda rads are cheap.....any restriction....replace rad.

Remove thermostat....fill thermostat housing with hose and watch for water flow at bottom rad hose.
Flush good.

Remove heater hoses.......flush back and forth until a good flow is present "With heater control set to hot" if no or poor flow....replace heater core.

Stop leak can plug everything.

Also.......not likely causing over heating....but ....at your mileage,if you do not know if the timing belt has been changed.....CHANGE IT NOW!
Water pump is optional at this mileage.
