Problems w/ 96 saab 900 se turbo

The car is having problems with overheating and simultaneously problems with oil light coming on and the car does not stay running after it starts it will eventualy shut off, also while it runs it runs a bit rich... i have read they have issues with gunk building up and blocking passage ways im wondering if this could be blocking oil pressure thus heating the turbo and motor up maybe making it overheat and the computer thinks it leaning out and dumping more fuel??? could the head be warped from over heating and allow the car to start but not continue running? please let me know what you think or if u know of those symptoms because im stumped

Have you oil in the water? (radiater) if so you head gasket has gone and will nd replacing (big bucks) having a mix of water and oil gives you the sludge build up continuous over heating will certainly warp your head check your oil dipstick for a milky sludge instead of just oil

96 900 SE turbo, brake light and tail light failure on SID. go to put car in reverse and car stalls, Note, License plate bulbs are out as well as 1 of the rear fog light bulbs, don't know if that would...

1996 SAAB 900 SE Brakelight Failure SID info
- stalls in reverse etc.

The problem lies with the grounding point in the left rear body cavity on the floor, see the diagram.
Rust eventually destorys the ground and the car will not run in reverse nor do the backup lignts or the rear hatch defroster work amongst other things
Re-attach the grounding wire to an existing welded stud on the side body panel and the problem is solved.

You must worry. This is very bad.Change the engine oil and oil filter-use mineral oil 15w40.If the warning lams come ON again when the engine is on normal operating temperature-need to change big ends and main bearings. This type of engine have only one overhaul-0.25
