High temp low oil pressure light comes on after driving for a few minutes, then off when engine at driving rpm. At stop light (idle or low rpm) light comes back on. Normal driving it goes out.

You need to find out why you have low oil pressure. It is normal that as engine rpm's increase, the oil pressure will rise- the oil pump is moving oil faster. Even though your light goes out, you could still have critically low oil pressure. There should be sufficient pressure at idle to keep the light off. The light will come on when your oil pressure is almost nil- I believe for some it's as low as 8 psi. Normally, oil pressure at idle is specified anywhere from 15 to 40 psi. You would have to check specifications for your Expedition. To verify oil pressure, hook up a mechanical gauge at the oil pressure sending unit on the engine block. Check with a local shop.

The causes run from easy, simple to budget busting ruin. Low oil level, wrong grade oil, real old oil, oil leaks, internal oil leaks, worn oil pump, worn crankshaft bearings. It was pretty common on older very high mileage cars to have a fluttering oil light at stops and idle. It was time for a rebuild, or time to look for another car.

Oil light comes on when car is ideling

It could be a blocked oil filter, idle rpm's too low , incorrect viscosity of oil and failing oil pump. It may be also a faulty oil sender unit . What ever it is have a oil pressure check using a mechanical gauge first

Gauges move when stopped

Sounds like it could have a weak alternator. In gear the idle is always lower than in park. A low voltage situation could cause the gagues to act up

Ok i just bought my 200sx and my check engine light comes and goes after filling it with gas, and now its staying on and my car is a manual and when i shift from like first to second and even third and...

It sounds to me like the throttle position sensor is bad. The fuel injection cleaner might not help this case. Since your car newer than a 1996,you will have a computer system known as an OBD2. This diagnoses anything wrong with the car and will set the check engine light on whenever there is something wrong with the system. I suggest hooking an OBD2 scanner up to it and see what the code reads. Even though it may be off now,the computer should store the code for a while. Also if they hook up more complex scanner to it,they can see what is going on with the car as they drive it.

My son just bought a 1986 cadillac deville and the "stop engine oil" light comes on whenever he stops the car. Any ideas, a bad sensor, I hopr?

Well, if you say that when he stops the car, but the engine still running (idling) - that "stop engine oil" light comes on, it could mean that the oil pump can no longer maintain the minimum oil pressure to the critical areas of the motor at an idle.
If the light goes out with a higher idle (driving the car) that is a good indication of a worn out motor.
be sure the oil is at the full mark, not below or above the full mark. Make sure the oil and filter are new. The sender units for the oil lights rarely go out - but it is possible.

My low pressure oil light keeps coming on when i stop and i just got my oil changed. The oil is not low. What could be the problem?

Hi,
That means LOW PRESSURE , not low in volume. Pressure is measured in PSI. The reason that your light comes on when you are at a stop is because your engine goes to idle at a stop and would normally have lower pressure. That doesn't mean you should get a low pressure light though.. I would have it checked by a pro right away as this could be your first warning before a serious problem.

Oil Pressure Light Comes On after 10 min of Driving

You may not have put the right amount of oil in your car, your oil pressure sensor could be faulty, or you may have a leak.

By revving your engine, you're increasing the pressure and thus turning off the light and making the sensor think that it's at the correct pressure.
