There are two ways you can do this oen is get a priming pump and conect to the out put side of the fuel filter and draw the fuel through that way. the other way is to push it through by unduing the bleed screw on the filter and preserising the fuel tank through the filler neck youing an air line and a cloth to seal the top of the neck and blowing aprox 50 or so psi in to the tank in short burst's NOTE THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH DIESLE AND NOT PETROL ENGINES !!!!!!

Could my fuel filter cause my car to start then shut off suzuki grand Vitara 1999 v6 4×4

Yes, a very clogged fuel filter could cause that. A fuel pump going bad could cause that as well.

Where is the fuel filter on a 1998 dodge dakota slt

Only the 4 cyl engine models used a serviceable filter in 1998.
Last year for the V6 and V8 models was 1994.
Most vehicles built after 2003 do not use a fuel filter.
If it had a filter it would be in the fuel line under the truck.

How to tell if you have a bad fuel filter

Replace it ever 3 or 4 years

Doubt it is a problem

When you change oil filters & fuel filters,
cut them open, to see how they are made,
& if they look clogged, in the case of a fuel
filter

That will tell you how many years you can
run it

You can check fuel pressure at the motor

Fuel filter 1996 buick 3800

Sounds more like a worn out fuel pump that binds up

The fuel filter if totally clogged, would drop pressure
& it would be slow to get from 20 to 50 mph,not the
problem I don't think.

You do not change parts to see if that will solve something

You surely know if the filter is over 4 years old

Your Exhaust Conveter if origninal ,problem or not
is totally shot, they only last 12 to 14 years.

You have to check the TPS Sensor & may other things

I hope you don't just go years until your break down,
because the car has been good to you

That makes diagnosing things more time consuming, as you
have no preventative maintenance history
l
I would have a fuel pressure gauge put on it

Trying to find where the inline fuel filter is located on a 1988 ford country squire station wagon it is supposed to be on or near the frame on drivers side

Ford had a small fuel filter up near ware the fuel line comes into the eighter the carb or fuel injector main on some fuel injucter engines . Im not sure what engine you have .But my ford use to give me a lot of problems with this filter until i cut into the fuel line and added a inline filter before it mine is an 85 . So look where the fuel line attaches to the fuel inlet its a 3 or 4 dollar part but its a vary fine mesh filter and clogs easy the older the vehicle is the more sediment you end up with in your tank .I did mine 10 years ago haven't had a problem sence Good luck

I had to change out my fuel pump, was useing a older gas tank that was not used for 4 or 5 years with old gas in it, now the truck will run but when you give it gas it stops, would that be a bad gas...

Change the filter and clean out the fuel lines. Replace all the bad fuel. The Carb has probably got some dirt in it too, try to clean this also. Hope this helped...

Fuel-consumption

Drive slower and easier. about 1 or 2 BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT DON'T PASS ANYONE . When you accelerate accelerate nice and easy watch the tachometer try to keep it below 3000 rpm all the way up to your cruise speed nice and easy don't worry about the guy behind you . Brake easy if you are coming to a light take your foot off and coast and try to time the light so its green when you get there. then EASY EASY on the gas keep it under 3000 RPMS all the time you are accelerating.
No special oil no special spark plugs or fancy air filters just factory parts whren you tune up every 3 or 4 years and change your oil about every 3 or 4 years yes 3 or 4 years it wont hurt it a bit just remember to always check the oil and add if it gets 1/2 Qt low. change the fuel filter EVERY EVERY 15,000 MILES fuel injection professional pressure cleaning once a year Air filter when it is dirty, please dont believe all those gimicks out there I have a car we change the oil about every 4 years and it has 350,000 miles no engine work yet runs every day passes emsssions every year no repairs needed fuel filters once a year or 15,000 miles
