Hi remove two back wheels and wheel arch liner the spark plugs will be in front of you remove the wire plug on the coil pack remove two allen key studs hold on coil pack pull out get plug spanner you know the rest oh yea you can buy the plugs prespace for porsche boxster enjoy about 1hrs work

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. I wouldn't think that the two issues are related. Hope this helped and best wishes.
