Hello there

This is a damp electric problem, the best thing to do is to spray WD 40 all around you engine and leave it over night to get the dampness out of your engine. There could be a problem with your distributor cap, you need to open this clean it and put it back on tightly.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

Did you change the plug wires when you changed dist. cap and rotor?? If not and you want to be sure they are the prob, wait till it's sunny outside and the truck works fine, then get a spray bottle (like an empty windex bottle or something) and put some salty water in it and spray the wires with it when the truck is running. If the engines starts to act up, sputter and what not, the wires are done for, throw em and change em. Also if it's dark enough you will usually easily see the sparks flying around the wires and all when you spray them. Coil isolation might also be the problem, but it's alot rarer than the wires. Same test procedure can be easily done here also. If both those test out good with the salty water, then it's going to be harder to pinpoint, but at least the good ol' salty water trick will work with anything related to humidity/rain and will help you size down the possible problems and areas that can be in fault.

Good morning, I have a 1993 Lexus gs300. I replaced the engine with one from the u-pullit yard. I checked the timing marks and reset the distributor. It still runs rough. Should I reset the distribut

If you got a shock from a wire that was correctly installed on the plug then the wire is leaking and if that one is leaking then you can assume others are bad as well. I would replace them with a quality set of wires even if it dosent help right now it will when the weather changes to rain and humidity get high, when it rains it may not start at all.

I have a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus. When it rains,

Check Battery, all battery connections, the ground from motor to frame and from battery to motor and or body. A poor ground connection can cause all kinds of problems. Also i had a car that would not start in high humidity that turnedout to be the starter. It was pulling too much juice from the battery at high humidity.

Car will not start when it's raining

9 of ten times that's caused by bad ignition wires, cap, rotor or sometimes even the ignition coil. Dampness makes it easier for spark to bridge a gap and jump to ground when wires are porous or there are carbon tracks on the other components. If the spark escapes before it gets to the plugs, the engine will not start.

Sometimes the engine doesn't start and the spark plugs are wet

Change cap & plug wires. If emergency before wire & cap repalcement, spray wires & cap with WD-40, let sit a few minutes & try it. WD-40 displaces moisture. Don't keep doing that though, its dangerous, just replace wires & cap.
