Question about 1994 Saab 9000
I have a Saab 9000CDE and the radio reads CODE. When the code is entered it does not unlock the radio. The red light for the security system does not blink, and the code alert is not beeping. I think it is locked. When the code is entered, the radio still does not come on. The system has worked properly until yesterday. I have owned the vehicle for 4-5 years. I have entered the code 3 consecutive times and followed the instructions in the manual and it is not working. Help, I have a 4 hr drive ahead of me in silence.
Welcome to the club, I have been fighting this for quite a while now,
Although I wasn't succesfull, my best guess is that the radio needs a confirmation of the security code from a car computer via serial communication which it does not get, I cant find which computer
it is, nor which wires are responsible for the transmittion.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have a Saab 900 -97 with a similar problem. I just solved it yesterday on my car. Hold the Band button in for like 10-15 sec when you see "Code In", It clears the error log in the radio. If it doen´t work, enter a wrong code so the code hangs on the display and then press the band button to clear the error log. It worked on my car, good luck!
