SOURCE: New slave cylander, can't get hydraulic preasure.

mechanics bodge this one ,slacken bleed nipple and hold finger on end then shout to mrs to push pedal down ,you then shout hold it down ,and apply a bit of pressure on nipple and then shout up,wait 5 secs for fluid to refill in master cylinder and repeat this 6/7 times then you should have some pressure ,maybe only a little bit but it becomes easier to bleed .if this doesnt work blame mrs throw a wobbly and throw her in the pool or fishpond and buy a new master cylinder or re rubber it and repeat again but i guarentee it will work then as she will be praying so hard to allah--- the almighty one will make it happen for you

About a year and a half ago, we replaced the clutch in my daughters 2007 Chevy Cobalt. The shop replaced the master cylinder yesterday and this morning, there is no pedal again. Any ideas?

Hi most chevy"s are fitted with a concentric slave thrust bearing. This normally creates hydraulic fluid leakage between engine block and gearbox bell housing if not so , check hydraulic pipe lines for leaks. bleed system and be certain hydraulic pressure maintains .If problem persists check and replace clutch master and slave or might be a rare case of a faulty pressure plate.

I have a 2005 chevy cavalier that the clutch pedal will not always come back up. i have to take my foot and bring it back up. no sign of fluid leak.

You do have a hydraulic pressure issue, likely air is getting into the system but fluid is not yet leaking out that you see or it is leaking inside the engine/transmission bell housing.

Where do I drain the oil on hydraulic clutch system

Slave cylinder in the bell housing has a bleeder valve sticking out of the bell. Follow the hydraulic line down and it will be right next to it at the bell.

2000 hyundai elantra leaking clutch fluid, when low or empty lose clutch, then refill clutch works fine, leaking under car

The clutch hydraulic system is very simple, just 3 pieces. There is the clutch master cylinder with attached fluid reservoir-mounted on the firewall, there is a steel line from the master going down to the transaxle bell housing, and there is the clutch slave cylinder on the bell housing that the steel line connects to.
If yours is leaking under the car, it is probably the slave cylinder, either that or the steel line. Either one should be easy to replace.

Hydraulic leaking

Do you have a hydraulic operated clutch? The slave cylinder for a hydraulic clutch would be on or sometimes inside the bell housing. Some ford and chevy trucks put the slave cylinder in a very difficult to reach place-the transmission has to be removed to service the slave cylinder. Most cars have the slave cylinder mounted on the outside of the bell housing. If they leak, replace or rebuild, although those internal slave cylinders I think can only be replaced.

I have a 1994 Chevy C1500 how would i find a leak for the clutch

The clutch master cylinder is located on the firewall in front of the clutch pedal and has a solid plastic line (hose) that runs directly to the clutch slave cylinder which is located inside the bell housing of the transmission. Unless it has rubbed against something and developed a leak, which is very unlikely, the leak will be at the slave cylinder and drip from the front edge of the bell housing where it meets the engine. This is a common problem with older Chevy trucks and the best fix is to replace the entire hydraulic system with a pre-assembled unit available at most parts suppliers. These units come with the master cylinder, hydraulic line and slave cylinder with a new release bearing (throw-out bearing) and are pre-bled and full of fluid. Replacing just the slave cylinder is a major job and bleeding these systems have been known to drive people crazy. Replacing ALL of it aint much more work and saves your sanity not to mention all those dirty words.12_28_2012_1_54_36_am.png

1988 chevy k2500 clutch pedal has no resistance

Your truck has a hydraulic clutch release system, you have a problem in it due to a leak in the slave or the master cylinder, The slave cylinder which is the one that leaks most often is inside the bell housing and it requires the ****** be removed to replace it.
