Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Won't go past 90mph

I have an 04 Trailblazer. When I go over 90 mph it feels like power is cut, but anything under 90 and it's fine. Why does it do this and how can I fix it?

Hello there

it sounds like the speed limiter, there is nothing wrong with the car but the US cars have these silly limiters which will cut off the power. The Suburban will cut out at 99mph, Escaldes at 109 mph etc. the solution is to have the speed limiter removed. it's done electronically so you'll need to find a garage that can remove them.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

Why does my 2012 Mini Countryman base model manual transmission , run at 3500 rpm when I hit 80mph? And is there a way to lower the rpm ?

That seems normal. Smaller tires (shorter) than designed will increase rpm, and larger tires (taller) tires will lower rpm. If there stock diameter now then your fine. The Rev limiter will protect the motor if needed.

It sounds like your catalytic converter....What happens is they start to clog up, This is a sign of what your car will do....Just saying, If you can get your car up to 35 mph and you try to give it more gas...It feels like your car has lost 90% power plus it feels like your running out of gas at the same time. The catalytic converters will catch fire when they go bad, So have it checked out ASAP. Please let me know if this help with your problem.

03 mitsubishi endeavor engine cuts out at 4000 rpm when driving revs fine when in neutral. It has no engine codes. any ideals?

At 4000 rpm what does your speedo say. Your computer may be limiting both your mph and your rpms. I have a 2004 Ford Ranger at 90 mph the engine sputters and seems to miss. It will stay at 90. In neutral it revs fine. My problem is because of chip programming in the computer. Your problem may be the same.

2006 Nissan Titan alternating misfiring and running fine until !

My truck is doing the exact same thing. I have been told it is the Intelligent Power Distribution Module or IPDM. The Nissan Dealership that is working on my truck says $400.00 parts and labor to fix.

My ca over heats when i do more than 90mph why

do you have alot of miles on it? Is it full of coolant, and oil? Sounds like it's low on one or the other or, it just wasn't built to do 90+ mph.

Audi a4 whirring acceleration noise

Hi i have 02 audi a4 slimline. on motorway going 70 mph and to past a car dropped it down to fourth gear probly hit 90mph. Drove for a further hour and a half, and hear a bang under car. car started to loose power. was drivable but hissing noise come out of it when accelerating. Feels like turbo not kicking in. Would this be that the turbo has blown of maybe burst pipe or something. If anyone can share a light on this i would be very greatful. Cheers

Power Loss

My guess is injectors. The early duramax's had a lot of injector problems. They sometimes get to where they bleed constantly, and sometimes they break off... bad stuff. Check your oil for diesel. When my dads injectors when out on his 01 D'Max, his truck would run ok for a while, then lose power. Computer will cut power when it picks up an injector problem. BTW, Sightseer, diesels dont have spark plugs, however, the diesel filter is a good idea, you have to change them pretty regularly on the D'Max engines ( in order to try and prolong the injectors lives, mainly, the smallest bit of junk in your fuel can screw those early injectors up quick) I think they got the injectors mostly straightened out in the 04 models, what I've heard is thats the best model Duramax there has been, fuel economy, power, and reliability. Too bad all the year models arent that way :/
