My headlights go out on their own after being on for 10 minutes and they wont come back on til i shut the switch off and then turn it back on.

When i have my headlights on for 10 or more minutes they just go out for no reason, but they will come back on if i shut them off and wait 5 minutes and turn them back on

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS BAD OR GOIND BAD , WHAT HAPPENS IS THE LIGHTS PULL AMPS AND GET THE SWITCH HOT AFTER THAT THE BREAKERS IN THE SWITCH SHORT OUT (CREAT A BAD CONNECTION) UNTIL IT COOLS OFF.

Headlight switch could be the problem. It might have melted partly and the contacts are moving when they heat up. Also could be a bad fuse that heats up and breaks contact.

Yes, it could cause the high beam problem also. The problem could also be in the high/low beam switch itself. There aren't 'breakers' in the headlight switch that cut out: that's the plastic parts of the switch melting and then cooling back into a solid.
Got a fire extinguisher handy? If you don't fix it right away, it might be something you want to keep around.

Hmmm,. Either jead lamp relay or switch is defective. Locate relay first , the most probable cause.. Good Luck

The first thing is that this car has an auto shut down, if it sees any lights on it shuts them down after a while, this is why they are shutting off, i think you are correct with the door switch, the most common one is the driverdoor switch, its a small push type switch on the latch asm as you know, i would start with the driverside door, i would almost bet thats the bad one, as afr as the headlight switch try unplugging it and see if light goes out but some models operate throught the switch but most dont so if its the dimmer switch then the light should go out when disconnected. good day.

My headlights wont turn off on my 2003 dodge intrepid

I own the same year make and model. The headlights are supposed to stay on for a few minutes if you shut them off after shutting off the engine. This is a safety feature. These are the headlights only. If the lights, side markers and taillights stay on, then the issue is most likely the switch. You will have to pull the switch and disconnect the wiring harness to confirm this. If the lights go out, then the switch is bad.
However, if the lights don't go out, or the headlights never shut off until they drain the battery, you may want to take the car in to get diagnosed. There could be an issue with the body control module or wiring. Most likely, it is the switch as Chrysler uses the cheapest parts for their switches, but I would check it first and not swap parts. All you have to do to check the switch is pull the bezel it sit in out of the dash. The switch is held in with two screws.
