I have a 1994 Plymouth Voyager Mini Van that we have already put a new AC unit in and a dryer. It charged up fine but then all of a sudden stopped working and will not take a charge. Someone suggest that it might be the orafice tube (blocked) but we are not sure and we are also not sure how to fix it. My husband is a Certified Mechanic but this is not in his area of expertise. Any assistance you can give would be a great help.
1994 voyagers a/c systems do not have orfice tubes they have expansion valves, they are located on passengers side near firewall, the valve is at end of hoses before they go inside vehicle.
get a/c cleaner from local parts store. remove freon from van, remove hoses from compressor, plug holes on compressor, remove all hoses, pour solution in hoses and blow with air, pour solution in evap. and cond. let set about 10 min and blow with air until all of solution is out of evap. and cond. how much oil did you pour in comp? most take 5 to 8 ounces of oil, and then rotated 2 to 3 complete turns. replace the valve, once they are stuck, they are stuck. valcum system with valcum pump, after everything has been put back together and recharge unit. if any more problems let me know.

How do you get the expansion valves and hoses unclogged?
Hi michaelwiggi,
Thanks for your quick response.
I'll give it to my other half so we can go and get the a/c cleaner.
I'll let you know how it goes.
