Question about 1992 GMC Yukon
We have a 2002 Yukon and the ABS light stays on all the time and they say it is some type of sensor that will cost $1500 to repair. Have you ever heard of something like that?
This is insane! why so much money?! To start with: an abs system is the same as a record turntable placed on it's side and located behind your wheel(s) behind your brake drum(s) On the edge of this turntable (disk) a series of squares or, stroboscopic lines are inscribed a small infared laser-type sensor (reads) the speed of the disk and relays it to the abs computer.
Pretty simple huh? so clean your disks and, your
sensor's lens and reset your abs computer.
hope this helps and, keeps your money in your pocket where it belongs.
