Remove the cap on the radiator or the header tank, use a plastic container that will hold about 4 ltrs of coolant, there should be a drain tap at the bottom of the radiator, if not you have to remove the hose clamp on the bottom hose and let the coolant drain out.
Replace the hose and clamp, top up the radiator and run the motor while checking the coolant level, if the level goes down a bit just top it back up and check over the next day.
hope this helps

You have two options. A ..drain coolant, flush your system, add pr oper coolant or b...buy universal coolant and add it. Its preferred that if you don't buy premixed coolant, use distilled wate r to mix with it.

2004 Sonata coolant reservoir is so buried that it is impossible to see where the 'F' and "L" lines are. Is there another way to judge where the coolant level is?

probably not but the best way is to open the lid and stick your finger in the hole and if you can touch water the it will be ok. Any excess generated by the operating engine will flow out the overflow pipe

Changing the coolant in '05 Hyundai Sonata

On newer cars you need to have the coolant exchanged with a machine. Make sure to use a rep. shop like Sears or your dealer. Putting the right ammount of coolant and the right type is very important!! The days of taking the lower hose off are all but gone.

The heat in my 2002 hyundai sonata doesn't work, Help!!!

Is the fan working and blowing air but there is now heat?

If there is no heat and air is blowing out check your radiator level. If the engine coolant is too low water will not get to your heater core. Remeber check the radiator level and not just the coolant reservoir. Becareful when working around a hot car. wait til the car cools down to check the level of the coolant in the radiator.
