Have you considered that all you had to do, was replace the EGR Valve,
and make sure you got no ignition misfires or vacuum leaks?

Everything you did was unnecessary, and would not be part
of any diagnostic testing, witch you couldn't have done.

Wishing,Hoping,Pushing and Poking,that procedure brings
in 2.3 Billon Dollars, of unnecessary wasted parts each year!

I have a 2001 mustang with a 3.8l I have a trouble code P0104

It is the DPFE sensor with out this your rpms will continue surge. Alot of people make the mistake of just replacing the EGR valve instead of the DPFE sensor which measures exhaust prssure going through the EGR vavle.

1997 Toyota Tercel (Manual)

Fuel regulator, EGR vavle and EGR valve sensor. But this really sounds like a fuel issue. You can also check your fuel pump, and of course check your air filter and your spark plugs.

Hesitation on accelearation

Is the car giving you a check engine light? If so you will need to take it to a mechanic to check the codes. Some common causes of hesitation are:

Low fuel pressure - caused by a bad fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator

EGR valve - make sure the EGR valve is working properly. You can test it with a vacuum pump and make sure it holds air. Also you could have a plugged EGR passage.

Good luck and keep me posted. Thanks - Tech101
