My speedometer broke which in some didn't send a signal to the transmission that it had to be cooled. I burned up 2 transmissions in less 3 days...this is related to lockup....Can someone tell me what...

Lock up is a feature within the transmission torque converter which is a fuel saving measure. At cruising speeds, the torque converter "locks up" creating a 1:1 ratio from engine rpm to transmission input. This is somewhat like overdrive in a sense. TCC (torque converter clutch ) depends on the vehicle speed sensor input to determine cruising speeds and conditions where TCC is permissable.Incorrect TCC operation can cause subsequent damage and/or serious driveability problems.
