Very important, is the water leak green like the engine coolant, this is a leaking heater core (very serious problem) or if it is it clear, your problem is the drain for the air conditioner drain is blocked (minor problem) there is a hose low on your firewall that is supposed to drain you A/C but yours is blocked, commonly by a wasp nest or something similar and is easily unblocked with no threat to your engine

SOURCE: drivers footwell full of water ( not flood damage )

check the drain tube outlet on the bottom of the car, that drains the AC. It could have become plugged. If that fails to clear up the problem, then you'll have to check the heater core... But you would be smelling coolant.

SOURCE: water leak into driver footwell

Hi, I've had this problem and spent hours with my Wife watering the front scuttle area with the wipe mechanism removed. I hope at last I've narrowed it down to an area where the brake booster to attached to the firewall. Rather than take it out I've used a cleaning gun on a compressor and fired heaps (and heaps) or black soundproofing tarry solution down around, in and about the right side as you look from the front. Certainly at this stage the water running inside has decreased markedly and I've given it one last blast this morning. I'm optimistic this will cure.

HI yes 100% brake servo plate its a common on corsa c and combo vans water in the driver footwell and rear driver footwell. dealers are charging a fortune to replace the plate and you will see lots of videos on youtube on how to repair it without taking out the brake servo. fact is the servo needs to come out to carry out a good repair.

you don`t say what year or type of car this is.if its coolant dripping into the footwell and its a caravan then the heater core is over by that side of the car and could be whats leaking.

Water in the footwell

Check under the hood on the firewall on the driver's side. There are body grommets which sometime crack, fall out, or are damaged by stereo installers, trailer brake controller installation, or CB/shortwave radio installers. Also, if you smell antifreeze, it is a coolant leak. If you smell mildew, it is rainwater entering the cabin. Your windshield could be leaking.
And the worst, and incurable: a body seam weld could have broken.

Seat Alhambra 1996 1.9L water leak drivers footwell

the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks

Drivers footwell full of water ( not flood damage )

There are drains under the battery box and under the ECU module. When they plug with dirt, pine needles, whatever, the water fills up the space and backs into the vents or wherever it can leak through the firewall and usually ends up in the rear footwell, drivers side. If you don't get on it and maintain those drain holes, it will start to take out the electrical. Gets very expensive for a simple design flaw. The carpet has to come up and thoroughly dried as well. Not much fun and a lot of work.
