Question about 1994 Geo Metro

94 geo metro won't start. possibly fuel problem. has trouble when i hit gas to make up a hill and misses, no transmission or spark plug problems. HELP!

My 92 Geo Metro was having problems when i pushed on the gas, it would miss and **** until it caught gear again. Now it won't start at all. Everyone i've mentioned and showed the problem too all say it's probably something to do with the fuel filter or pump. Spark plugs, transmission, and all fluids are in good shape.

These cars had problems with hydraulic lifters that would get plugged, then pump up or collapse. The exhaust valves would then burn over time and the engine would get harder and harder to start. You may just be at the bad lifter stage but chances are you need a valve job and new lifters. Do a compression test and you'll see what I mean. I'm guessing about 40 or 50 lbs in each hole.

Do a complete tune up plugs wires cap rotor. The spark gets stronger when your accelerating and this is when some electrical problems break down.

assuming its the engine? is it, and not transmission slipping? A/T?
1:the 60k tuneup in the operators guide done?
the 3 causes are. (takes tools to find which, in most cases.
lost compression , hot engine?
poor spark (weak or not timed right)
poor fueling.
there are simple tests for each.
we can do the tests, or guess?

1991 geo metro car misses at low rpms

if its only missing at low rpm, then I would think the problem is electrical. try replacing the spark plugs and the plug wires and the wire from the coil to the distributer, and make sure the plugs are gapped properly. that will probably solve your problem.

If your geo is losing power ,first thing to do is a comprision test .
if its testing any thing below 100 psi you may have to replace the piston rings.

2001 geo metro lsi, engine noise annoying, mostly on acceletation I just bought a 1996 Geo Metro 1 owner, Senior Lady for cheap price. I had just a little bit of gasoline. Since I realized the engine was...

You didn't describe the nature of the 'noise' which is probably why you haven't received a prior reply.
If it is missing, it might be injector problems but the injectors themselves are not loud enough to be heard over the other engine noise.
Spark plugs, ignition wiring, fuel filters cannot 'make noise.' Any of those can cause the car to run rough but not cause any specific noise unless it is related to the engine misfiring and in that case, it wouldn't just be a source of noise but also inadequate acceleration and a prominent jerking of the car at low RPMs. Carbon buildup is the likely cause although causing any engine to lug (drive in a higher gear at low speeds) can damage bearings in the engine, creating excessive bearing play and a knocking noise under some conditions. Also, a failed exhaust manifold gasket or associated pipes being cracked can really cause a racket.
Without us hearing the noise, it's kind of hard to diagnose it, but the above might give you some guidance.
