'05 Mercury Monterey power door buttons not working

Hello. It seems the PCM (Power train Control Module) is at fault. The PCM controls sliding doors, back up cameras, sunroof etc. The ECM, PCM and TCM are 'interconnected' with each other; work 'hand in hand'. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

If door is open , interior lights may be on and killing the battery. The door switch may be bad and that may be why the door wont close.

Sounds like a bad fuse block

I think you may have contact a mercury dealers service dept to ask if the key has a procedure to restore information in the ram/rom . The ICs in somee key fobs lose some of the data when the current supplied by a cell/battery is absent, you may have lost some of that data or the key may have been damaged. An auto locksmith may also be able to advise further on this matter

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

This Should NOT Have Happened from Battery Change, But You Now Must See the Dealer to Reset FOB & Lock System they have to Connect it to A Scanner to Reset it

The lift arms need to be replaced. There are 2 hydraulic "shocks" that hold the door open. Your local auto parts supplier will have them in stock. I was able to get away with replacing only 1. The one on the passenger side was completely gone there was no pressure left in it all. They are VERY easy to replace, but they are a little pricey. Shop around NAPA, Autozone, will have widely varied prices on them.

The support shocks on the rear door need to be replaced. You can find them at your local auto parts store. They are VERY easy to install. Compare prices before you buy. Prices vary.
