When your blower stopped was it a blown motor (usually blows the fuse due to amperage overload, blocked fan by forien object (usually leaves) or blown fuse, this is not fixed by changing the blower motor

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

Yes its the blower motor resistor.

More then likley theres some trash or something in it, or possibly the motor itself is on it's way out. There not that bad to pull out of that body car, just pull it out and see what you can see.

The blower motor is under the glove compartment

You can replace the resistor on your own. Please find a detailed diagram which would guide you to do it.

Heater heats up and blows hot air but after about 15 mins becomes noisy and smokes

It sounds like a bad bushing on the blower, when it wears down it vibrates and has play on the shaft which causes it to make a loud noise. I had the same problem and tried to oil the bushing and shaft to no avail, I just went ahead and replaced it with a new blower for about 35 bucks.

For the screeching noise you need to replace the blower motor and for the blower motor speed you need to replace the blower motor resistor.

Noise and burning smell from heater

Yeah.
Pine needles get into the heater box and clog the heater fan motor's "fan".
You also may have rodents in there, making nests.
The wife was smart to turn off the heater fan B-4 the fuse blew.

MY HEATER IS NOT WORKING AND IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE

If you turn on any/all heating/cooling control and it makes a loud noise, it is probably your blower fan; they are normally located under the dash (some vehicles are easier than others).

If it's just your heat though, not a/c as well, then someone else will have to chime in...

The heater fan on my 98 chevy silverado stopped working... worked on high at first but made a high pitched noise and stopped all together

Run 12V directly to the motor and see if it will run, if it dosent than the motor is bad, if it does than the resister is bad, the resister makes the blower run and also regulates the speeds for the blower, but chanses are if it was making a high pitch squeel before it quit the motor went out.

Honda heater makes loud noise

ok well its possible there may be something stuck in the blower motor under the passenger side dash. ..or the blower motor itself could be on its way out, sometimes leaves or sticks from trees and even stove inside the glove box can find their way into the windshield cowling and into your blower motor..u can remove it to check by unplugging its white connector and remove the 8mm bolts that secure it into the heater core box..its very easy to remove..the 8mm bolts / screws should also have a phillips head on them...

under the hood on the passenger side is where the motor is located.there are 3 or 4 screws that hold it in place and once you remove the fan motor youll know if its bad or not. the bearings may be worn out on it.
