My car cuts off at times right after it is cranked. At other times when stopped at a stop light but starts back up. Also, when driving it is hesitating and jerking.

It sounds like you have a bad MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). This is in your air inlet tube, pull this out and check to see if there is any corrosion on it. If is one that has a coiled exposed wire, then ensure that the wire is not broke.

consider this
when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster
If it's not running hot it possible it is your fuel pump going bad somethings it might help if u turn the switch on but do not crank it cut it back off cut it back on but do not crank it do that 3 times to pump the fuel pressure back up after that then try to crank it for the time being till u get it fixed
Might be a leak on your brake booster (this will most probable give you a hard brake pedal or a "sucking sound " when applying brakes) also check the vacumm pipe from the engine to the brake booster. It might have a leak, so when you press the brakes it influences the air mixture.
have scanned if light is on. it may be a bad or failing crank sensor. for the sensor controls timimg, it will stop engine while driving. have a good day!!
any warning light?don't irritate your engine u may lose him.check the 'water level on your tank oil also.check for any leaking.there have to be something
while driving the engine cuts off, cranks back up
