Question about 2002 Chevrolet Suburban

1 Answer

Radio will not play out of the spekers.

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban and the radio quit playing out of the speakers. I changed the radio and still have nothing I checked all the fuses and wires on the amp and radio and everything looks good. I don't know if maybe my amp could have gone bad. I also have a dvd player in it and it works fine through the headphones but it will not play through the speakers either. I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help me with this? First, (I just found out yesterday) try to run the radio directly to the speakers without going through the amp...If that works, you will need to run all new wires through the entire system. Best Buy can do this for you for about $180, I know that it is alittle expensive, however, the next thing to do is to go to the dealer and get another amp, (and we ALL know what the dealer will cost)...

Sounds like your amp is bad. If I where you, I would just bypass the amp. If you got dvd player, your screen is an amp in itself. Just find 8 wires that are about foot long and bypass that thing.

Speakers have played intermintintly for several

you need to find out if your vech has an amp or not call your dealer and give them the vin# adn they can ck to see if the truck was built with or with out an amp.If the truck has an amp the radio sends low level signals to the amp then the amp amplifies them and sends the signals to the speakers. so if the amp is bad and you replace the radio it still will not sent the signals to the speakers.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer radio and CD player works, but no sound

if you have installed a new cd player in there then the propblem could be that your speaker wires and either touching each other or grounding them selfs out.. pull of the cd player and check to make sure all the speaker wires are covered properly and no bare wires are exposed.. if you still have a factory cd player in it then you will probably need to take it to a dealership to have it checked out..

1998 Chevy Suburban radio troubles...

Hi Janie,

If the radio powers up, it's not a fuse problem. At least not with the radio itself. The door locks are most likely unrelated. We can address them separately. One thing at a time though.

My first suggestion would be to check for an engaged mute option. If that isn't it, my 2nd choice is the box that you mentioned, that the radio connects to. That is what is drawing my attention.

However I need to know more.

A bit of Question and Answer is needed to help you out. Just comment me back with the answers. OK?
  1. Make/Model of the replacement radio
  2. Make/Model of the CD player
  3. Make/Model/Nature of the box the radio connects to. Is it an Amplifier? What is it?
  4. Do all the components power up when the radio does?
  5. When you try to play a CD, does it go through the motions, just with no sound?
Get back to me and we'll get you fixed up
Mike
