Know blower motor resistor bad

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus. With a manual switch. It works sometimes. We were told to kick the where the blower motor is under the glove box and it started working again. But first thing to start happening was the when I would switch to different settings it would make a clicking sound like it could switch over? Then it stopped working and we kicked the motor and its worked ever since. Would it be the motor of connection?

SOURCE: Air Conditioner blower motor resistor was replaced

Motor is also energized by a relay. check that and also check that the motor itself is good by running a hot lead right to it. I'm sure you already checked the fuse and know the switch is good?

SOURCE: blower motor fan works on high setting only

The resistors are located in the firewall just above the blower motor. they have a heavier gadge wire going to it. As for the water if it is not antifreeze then you have a leak in your cowl area by the lower windshield. I ran in to this problem on several gm cars such as yours it can be deficult to find good luck

Sounds like you may have a bad blower motor resistor or a bad connection on the blower resistor.

Your problem more than likely isnt the switch for the fan control, but the actual Blower Motor Resistor is bad... here is a helpful diagram and "how to" on replacing the resistor.

Hope this helps...

I have 2002 infinity I35 and the blower motor stop working ,I took out the blower motor to make sure was good. YES the blower motor still working .the only think I really don't know how to check is Blower...

WELL YOU HAVE TO USE A VOLT METER CONNECT ONE VOLT METER WIRES TO GOOD GROUND AND THE OTHER VOLT METER WIRES GOES TO EACH SWITCH SPEED.IF VOLT METER GET VOLTAGE A 1 OR 2 CONTROL SPEED RESISTOR BAD.IF RESISTOR BAD YOU WILL GET 1 OR 2 BLOWER MOTOR SPEEDS.IF BLOWER MOTOR WORKING.CHECK THE AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH FUSE OR CHECK BLOWER MOTOR FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL GOOD SO FAR CONTROL SWITCH ITSELF COULD BE FAULTY.

If a fan in a taurus 93 doesn't work is it the blower resister, and how easy is it to replace?

Usually if the blower motor resistor is bad, the fan will still work on "HIGH". The resistor is usually only a few inches away from the blower motor, look under the dash on the passenger side.

Blower motor stopped working.

Go to this site and you can get a copy of your owners manual. Just pic the owner's manual link in the left side task bar.
The relay is located in the interior fuse panel. It should show you a diagram of the fuse panel in the owners manual.

If you can, check if there is voltage at the blower motor connector with the ignition on and the engine not running. If you have voltage, the blower is bad. If no voltage, it may be a bad blower switch, the blower motor resistor assembly, or the wiring between them.

The resistor assembly is on the evaporator housing under the dash on the passenger side and near the blower motor. The glove box must be removed to check this and the blower. A thermal limiter resistor is built into the resistor assembly and will open, ie melt, with excessive heat.

Without more details on this, it appears either your blower motor or the blower motor resistor assembly is bad.
