There is a flip down panel to the lower edge of the dash panel above the pedals. It is a 16 pin socket

could be transmission fault, connect the 2 loose black plugs together under the drivers side dash, turn on ignition, no start, the ecl will flash the code, slow flashes are 10's and fast ones are 1's. codes can be got from bba-reman.com

2001 Subaru Forestor Won't Accelerate

MAP SENSOR will do this exact thing.... Some vehiles you have to clear the codes and allow the vehicle to RELEARN...

TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) that is failing will also do this same thing

Engine Light, Battery Light and ABS lights stay on in Subaru Forester 1999 AWD

that's be easy, take a OBD2 code scanner to diagnose your car, and if you get some codes, you will know what cause the lights on.

My 2002 subaru wrx obd2 link wont connect to scanner , is there a fuse i dont see on listed

It is most often the same fuse as the cigar lighter or power points. Use a 12 volt test light and check the terminal listed in the diagram below for power.

I have a 1998 Subaru Forestor and recently it started chugging here and there when I gas it. The check engine light comes on and sometimes goes off. I had it plugged in and the codes said...mass air flow...

did you in fact replace the O-2 sensor as well?
What about the ignition coil - have you tested for ohms resistance? (in particular cylinder #3)
the coils are relatively inexpensive, and easy to test for sure. I think it is 10 ohms or less if I recall - similar with the spark plug wires... check those as well - they may be compounding the problem..
One last thing - check to be sure the spark plugs are all the way tight in the cylinders...
Best regards
Ck

I just purchased a 2004 forestor and realized that the rear turn signal needs a new bulb. what are the basic steps to complete this task

There should be an access panel from the trunk-area. Find the burn out bulb, untwist it, and insert new bulb. It's a very straightforward process.

My check engine light just turned on randomly on my 92 subaru loyal. I have a DLC but don't know where to connect it. Help!

a DLC for OBD2 wont work on your car. only cars made after 1996. you may need a manual for your car, there should be 2 green connectors under the dash to connect, or they may be under the hood. then the light will flash codes out. Its been so long I cant remember.
