Question about Cars & Trucks
My ford escape recently broke down this weekend on the highway. It made an extremely loud squealing noise and then all of a sudden started chugging and then had a burning rubber smell near the front driver side. I was told this might be a belt so I'm wondering if there is a belt that may have caused this problem?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

There are several things you should know;
1. Power steering belt, when you make a turn, sometimes make noise, because your car needs power steering oil,=transmission oil.
2. when you turn on AC then you can hear a loud noise, you must check AC compasser,If the head wheel frozen, it will make a lot noise, that you have to fix your AC compasser.
3.check these two first, if both ok. shot some wd40 or lubricate see if it's work.
Hope this can help you

Sounds like the adjustment may not be correct on the power steering belt, with the tension not being enough, after you replaced the belt ?
Try giving it a little more tension, and go from there.
Hope I have been of help.
Good Luck !
