How do you remove heater coil unit ?

This will be a big job. The heater core is tucked up under the dashboard. In some cases you can get the heater core out without removing the dashboard, in other cases some or most of the dashboard will need to come out.

If you are entertaining tackling this job yourself, you will definitely need a service manual. The ones from automotive stores, Haynes, Chilton, etc, will provide generic instructions. For specific detailed instructions, order a Workshop manual for your vehicle. It will provide detailed instructions on how to remove, test, repair, replace the heater core.

In general, the Haynes and similar manuals provide basic information for those who have skill in repairing vehicles with little assistance. The Workshop manuals also require skill but are dedicated to just one model and year and provide much more detailed instructions.

Best of luck, Jim

How can I chage the A/C filter on Accent 2007?

Remove the Phillips-head screws and the 10mm bolts that attach the glove box insert to the dash. Pull the release tabs on the glove box door travel stops and release the glove box door from the glove box. Slide the glove box insert out. Remove the lower dash trim panel on the passenger side of the dashboard.Remove the old HEPA filter by depressing the locking tabs on the filter cover located on the front of the plastic evaporator case located directly behind the glove box. Then slide the filter carefully, out and down, to prevent knocking the dust that has been captured by the filter into the evaporator case or onto the carpet.Install the new filter by sliding the new filter into the evaporator case. The new filter is labeled to indicate the direction it should be installed into the evaporator. Push it completely into the case, and close the cover until the latches snap into place.Reinstall the glove box insert and attach it to the dashboard using the original screws and bolts. Insert the door travel stops into their slots and push the door closed. The stops will automatically snap into place. Reinstall the lower dashboard trim to complete the project.

If you really dont need it, just unhhook the heater by pass hoses, and cap them off...But you basically have to remove the dashboard to get to it..It is in the same casing with your evaporator...Goodluck..

Installing heater core

First you need to remove the dashboard. With the dash out of the vehicle, you can access the heater.evaporator casing. Pull the casing out, after you have removed freon, and then remove the heater core. Then just reverse the procedure.

My speedometer stops working sometimes

Sounds like a loose fitting behind the dashboard cluster. Stop knocking on it and remove the dash and take a look before you really case some jostling damage in other instruments.

Dashboard on a mercedes 190

Sorry, but removing the entire dashboard on a Merc 190 is far too detailed and involved to go into on this site, especially as it's very time consuming to scan and upload to a website all of the photos and diagrams which you'll need. In any case, it's all copyrighted material and so would be illegal to do so.

I respectfully suggest that you get a Haynes manual; the first repair alone will more than pay for the book.
