Question about Cars & Trucks
My Mini cooper s convertible 2004 has a very leaking roof, it appears only the back half of the top of the roof is leaking. I have re-proofed this twice now but still leaking. please help
Park it in a garage and not use the garage as a pool room or a kitchen extension or have i i been watching too many grand designs on the TV ,Failing which consult a body shop as it may need new material or something as if you live in a hotter climate then UV sun damage will cause this

Testimonial: "Hi Colin Stickland. yeah I think you have been watching to many grand design's, I have used Auto Glym Fabric hood protector and this appears to have sorted the problem. I only usually reproof my ragtop a couple of times a year, however due to the amount of rain we have had I was advised to do it a few more times, this I have done and it appears to have done the trick. Thanks for your help."

Make sure that the microswitches in the rear trunk are all depressed. There is one where the parcel shelf (the cover that covers the view of the trunk from the outside) sits on the left that is usually the problem make sure that it is sitting on the microswitch (pull down on the closest side to you so it pivots forward and sits on the microswitch. Then make sure that the latch on the left side (drivers side) of the rear that allows easier access to the trunk switches the microswitch there. now close the trunk and try the conv top. the parcel shelf, the rear access latch and i think the trunk switches need to be depressed for the top to work. I know at least the first two.

Make sure that all of the micro switches are depressed. There are two in the trunk both on the drivers side. One is where the parcel shelf rests.(Not the back pivot rod but the resting part.) The other is on the left latch that keeps the rear upper trunk latched. The last one is that the trunk is shut. Make sure all three of these switches are depressed and the top will operate.

Have you checked the parcel shelf is seated properly as there are micro switches beneath it so the car knows it will not jam the roof as it is lowered?

check the parcel shelf has been refitted correctly as there is a micro switch on the left hand side that stops the second stage of the roof from opening
