Loud clunking noise

My dodge ram 2500 makes a loud metal sacraping and clunking sound underneath when driving it and truck jerked and died when turning right

check the cv axles at the front differential. inner joints get loose on the splines and cause a knocking noise.

Turns over then cuts off


Clunking noise sounds like a piston to crankshaft problem. You can do a compression test to determine the bad cylinder.

That sounds like a loose exhaust pipe or a metal cover plate underneath that has come loose.Check it out.

Sound like you have bad u-joints, have them check out before it cause more damage.

Check the U Joints in the Drive Shaft and the Rear End. Sometimes the Rear end U Joint can be Bad and sound like the Tranny.
