    seems like my cluch is barely working i have to push it all the way to the floor and i have to force my stick shift into gear

Try bleeding the clutch system as you have air in the system and that is not allowing full dis-engagement of the clutch plate. If that does not fix then replace the clutch master cylinder as there is oil leaking past the piston cups

Hi:

Your transmission has 3 shift rails...
1st - 2nd
3rd -4th
5th- Reverse

If your 3rd gear doesn't work , you have an internal transmission problem, such as a syncronizer, or similar fail... There is not much you can fix, without removeing the transmission.

I have an 1992 chev s10 Pickup with a 5 speed manual transmission, while driving to work it suddenly would not go into any gear. any ideas?


With the engine off, try to put it into a gear. If it goes into a gear, then your clutch is bad and needs replaced. If you still can't get it into gear this way, you probably have a busted detent plate which requires the transmission to be removed and serviced.

The transmission on my 2002 4x4 sonoma crewcab only works on reverse,1st/2nd gear. i m kinda shure the transmission is bad. so id like to know what year transmissions from (ex: blazers/bravadas/s10/jimmi)...


Yes u are right the forward clutchs have failed, the fact reverse works means the front pump is ok, u will need an overhaul or better yet a factory reman trans, they have all the latest improvements to make them last a long time, do not buy from discount auto parts stores, they have about a 20-30% out of the box fail rate based on my experience.

Had transmission rebuilt in my s10 blazer now it


Transmission does not shift automatically, only manually. Swap in a known-good PCM, check wiring, check other sensors such as VSS and TPS.

3rd gear starts, can manually shift through all gears. When car has been turned off for a bit, then back on it will run normally.: VSS drop off w/ Hi-stall converter. The rpms are too high, but VSS is showing no movement. Happens after a tire burning take-off. Doesn't store a code, will not throw a CEL (I've heard that it will store a code if it happens 3 or more times). Cure: Reprogram PCM for VSS drop off -- PCMforLess knows about it.

Note that many problems that show up as transmission issues are actually PCM or electrical, and may be external to the transmission. Try a different PCM, and check for chafing where the cables come out of the PCM or the transmission on the passenger side.

My s10 won't stay in overdrive.


Do you mean this is the manual transmission? If it will not stay in gear, you are most likely losing your OD. As a temporary fix, rig a bungie cable to hold the shifter in OD while on long drives. While this is counter-productive for the lower gears, seeing as the cord will pull it out of the other gears if rigged properly, it works well for interstate and highway traversing.

I have a 1997 S10 pickup. It is a manual


Could be heat shield for cadalitec converter, or inside converter has broken loose, or a hainger for your exhaust has broken.
