Keeping your Car Strong

To keep your car running strong, use synthetic oils on all parts required, and use platinum spark plugs. Change all sensors and gaskets every year. And just to add on to the fun, have your tranny flushed, and coolant flushed, and have the entire car serviced every 2000 miles. It is only neccessary and will keep your car running strong forever...

At what mileage should i have a 2004 suzuki verona transmission fluid flushed and changed? it currently has 46,000 miles on it.

ALL VEHICLES---- get their transmissions & power steering
changed,NOT FLUSHED every 30,000 miles ALWAYS

Flushing will cause problems
Do not flush --- no reason to

Replacing all the fluid, will sometimes put
a problem in, that was not there before

At 28,066 dealer oil change. At 28,778 dealer flushed engine to remove sludge build up and changed oil. At 30,835 miles inspection, dealer flushed engine to clean out sludge and changed oil. At 34,630...

First dealer was NOT doing you any justice. Next oil change run a can of GUNK engine flush let idle 5-10 mins then change Oil & Filter and use a good oil like Castrol or Valvoline 10w-30. You won't have "supposed" sludge build up.

I just purchased a 1996 Nissan Maxima with over 200,000 miles on it. I had the oil flushed and changed. Now my Check Engine Light has come on. I have a road trip of several hundred miles planned in the...

200k miles is a lot of miles. Is it smoking? If so, it could indicate a worn out engine. If the Check Engine light goes on, as a rule, I always recommend that the code be read to get a clue as to what is wrong.

I think you should resolve the problem before you go, if possible.
But, it's up to you.

VSC/ Check Engine Light

My 2000 Lexus GS 400 just had the VSC/VSC off light and the check engine light come on. I would have to push the accelarator peddle all the way down to get it to go. Took it to the Toyota dealer and the code pulled up as the Throttle Position Sensor was out. Purchased one and having it put in. Will update if this fixes the problem.

Check engine lite

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with one of the components or sensors it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. First step is to find out what code turned the light on.
